Rolls-Royce PSV design for Fletcher Shipping

    Vessel & ROV News // May 6, 2014

The first of Fletcher's newbuilds is already under construction.

Rolls-Royce has been chosen to design and deliver integrated ship equipment for two platform supply vessels (PSVs).

The two vessels, of UT 755 LC design, are to be built by Norwegian yard Simek for Aberdeen-based owner Fletcher Shipping Ltd. The contract value for Rolls-Royce is £11.5 million.

The mid-size PSVs will have good cargo capacity on deck and in tanks. The first vessel is already under construction and will be delivered in November 2014. The second will follow suit in April 2015.

Rolls-Royce's deliveries include design, main-engines, generators, thrusters, switchboards, deck machinery, bulk handling systems and dynamic positions systems.

Both vessels have class notations as CLEAN and COMF-V(3) for environmental concerns and are low level on noise and vibrations.
