SembCorp Marine planning 'mega yard'?

Yard News - September 12, 2003

| More
SembCorp Marine is preparing to build a single, large shipyard that will consolidate its aged Jurong and Sembawang facilities in Singapore, according to local press reports.

The huge new facility is expected to be built on land already selected in Tuas, creating one of the biggest industrial projects in Singapore.

Government approvals are expected by year-end.

According to local newspapers, confirmation of the plan effectively ends the long-touted proposed merger and consolidation of SembCorp Marine and major local competitor Keppel Offshore and Marine.
