World Wide Supply takes delivery of last of six newbuildsVessel & ROV News // March 17, 2014
The naming and delivery of World Sapphire has marked the completion of a six-ship order for Damen Shipyards from World Wide Supply.
The Damen PSV 3300 has a wave-piercing bow, slender hull lines and diesel electric propulsion with azimuth stern drives, combining to optimise seakeeping and fuel efficiency. The 80.1m, 1500-tonne deck capacity vessel also has DP2.
Jostein Sætrenes, Chief Executive Officer of World Wide Supply, which was established in late 2010, said: "Damen was able to deliver six vessels between June 28 and December 17, which is impressive.”
Mr Sætrenes said all six vessels will be under contract during the second quarter, four of them being on long-term charters to Brazilian energy giant Petrobras.
