    North Norway to have ERRV

    News // September 12, 2003
Seabrokers reports that, as a result of the increasing tonnage carrying oil passing the northern part of Norway, the Norwegian Coastal Administration is to establish a standby service off the coast of Finnmark and Troms.

The vessels will patrol and offer standby services - emergency towing of vessels in distress, oil recovery and emergency offloading - in the relevant coastal waters.

The charter period is estimated at somewhere between six months to two years plus one year option.

Seabrokers says the charterers are looking for two vessels with DP1, Oil Rec and FiFi.

Six contenders have reportedly been shortlisted.
