More ERRVs for Sentinel MarineVessel & ROV News // January 29, 2014
Sentinel Marine Ltd has ordered four additional multirole emergency rescue response vessels (ERRVs). The vessels are FOCAL 531s designed by Focal Marine & Offshore.
The 62m vessels are classed by ABS as Group B ERRVs and are designed to be easily upgraded to Group A ERRV’s.
The vessels will have dynamic positioning, redundant propulsion and thruster systems, enhanced cargo-carrying capabilities, with 400m3 of usable deck space, and advanced rescue and recovery equipment.
Designed to work in the North Sea, particular attention has been placed on seakeeping, crew comfort and fuel efficiency.
The company recently announced the arrival of two multirole ERRVs for its Aberdeen fleet. Sentinel Star will commence operations in early February 2014 and Sentinel Prince will commence in mid-March 2014. Both vessels are undergoing conversion to the UK ERRV guidelines.
