Saipem appoints chief financial and compliance officerCompany News // December 16, 2013
The Board of Saipem has approved the creation of a new senior management position of Chief Financial and Compliance Officer, bringing together oversight of the finance, legal and compliance and ICT duties in order to strengthen the company’s management structure and reiterate its current strategic focus on compliance and internal controls.
Alberto Chiarini has been appointed Chief Financial and Compliance Officer. He joined Saipem on October 1st as Assistant to the CEO with the responsibility of overseeing the governance, compliance strengthening of the internal control system and risk management initiatives.
He has worked closely over the past months with CFO Stefano Goberti.
Prior to joining Saipem, Mr Chiarini held a number of senior finance and management positions within Eni during 24 years of service, most recently as CEO of Syndial, Eni's subsidiary in the petrochemical industry.
