    Subsea 7 wins contract from Centrica Resources

    Global subsea contractor, Subsea 7 has announced the award of a major UK pipelay contract. The award from Centrica Resources Limited is for installation of the subsea facilities on its Rose Field Development Project which is located in UKCS Block 47/15-bin the Southern North Sea in approximately 24m water depth.

    The EPIC (engineering, procurement, installation and construction) contract, valued at approximately $14.5M, is for a new 9.1 km 10in gas pipeline and control umbilical from the Rose well tied back to the BP operated Amethyst A2D platform. It is expectedthat 60 personnel will be directly assigned to this project from Subsea 7's pipe spoolbase in Leith, Edinburgh.

    The vessels to be utilised include Subsea 7's reel ship Skandi Navica as well as a pipelay survey support vessel and a diving/construction vessel from the extensive `in-house' fleet of advanced offshore DP vessels. The onshore engineering work has commenced with completion of the offshore works scheduled for the end of October 2003.
