Lewek Inspector named at Leirvik shipyardVessel & ROV News // November 21, 2013
Havyard Leirvik shipyard recently held the naming ceremony for Lewek Inspector, the first vessel that Forland Shipping contracted after the former shipowner Ellen Forland passed away in 2010.
The hull of the vessel arrived at the shipyard from Turkey in May, and the yard says outfitting has been completed in record time for such a large vessel.
The ship is fitted with two work-class ROVs with active heave compensated winches for work at depths of up to 3,500m. The vessel has a high freeboard and as many as eight propulsors so that it is capable of position-keeping in DP mode and of work even in heavy seas.
The vessel will work for EMAS AMC for the next five years.
