    Chouest vessel attacked by pirates offshore Nigeria - captain and chief engineer kidnapped

    Reuters reports that pirates attacked a  supply vessel owned by Edison Chouest off the Nigerian coast and kidnapped the captain and chief engineer, both US citizens.

    Quoting American defense official and security sources, Reuters said the US-flagged, C-Retriever, a 222f vessel owned by Edison Chouest Offshore, was attacked early on October 23rd, according to UK-based security firm AKE and security sources.

    In a separate incident, three Nigerian soldiers were killed on October 22nd when armed robbers attacked a vessel carrying construction workers in the creeks of oil-producing Rivers state.
