Østensjø's new SURF vessel will be chartered by Deepocean.
Kleven has signed a contract with Østensjø Rederi in Haugesund, Norway, for construction of a 150m offshore construction vessel intended for the subsea umbilicals, risers & flowlines (SURF) market.
The total value of the contract is NKr 1.4 billion, making it the largest contract ever for Kleven.
The advanced SALT 304 OCV design will be equipped with a 400 tonne crane, a 70 tonne crane, a Vertical Lay System and carousel.
The vessel is due to be delivered by Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik, Norway in the first quarter of 2016, and will enter into a long term charter with Deep Ocean.
Kleven has 13 vessels on order with a total value of around NKr 7.9 billion.
