Ezra orders news anchor handling tugs

    Vessel & ROV News // May 27, 2005
In early May, Ezra Holdings in Singapore confirmed that it had placed orders for the construction of two multipurpose anchor handlers for US$5.82 million, excluding the cost of certain owner furnished equipment.

The vessels, a 45m multi-purpose 4,200bhp AHT and a 48m 4,900bhp AHT, are expected to be delivered in the second half of the financial year ending Aug 31st 2006, and will be funded through a combination of internal funds and bank borrowings.

Mr Lionel Lee, Ezra's Managing Director, said: "These newbuildings are part of our expansion programme to take advantage of the buoyant level of E&P activity in the oil and gas sector. We still see very strong demand for our specialized vessels and we are well-positioned to respond to the industry's needs."

In the current financial year ending August 2005, Ezra will take delivery of three anchor handling, towing and supply vessels (or AHTS) and two AHTs, while two other AHTS and this latest order of two AHTs will be delivered in FY2006.
