    Hornbeck Offshore redirects its focus

    Vessel & ROV News // September 30, 2013

Hornbeck Offshore in the US is letting 43 options expire for further Hosmax 310 and 320 design DP supply
    vessels.

The owner said any further orders are more likely to be for Jones Act compliant subsea support vessels.

As broker Fearnley Offshore supply noted recently, Hornbeck already has four such vessels under construction and may increase that to eight.

At present two will deliver first half of 2015 and two in second half of 2016. 26 to 28 months is seen as delivery time for such orders and Hornbeck will “redirect energy” to be more “focused on the subsea product line”.

The owner also added that what it called new vessel designs with “enhanced capabilities” are being worked on.
