Barge Master secures LOA for new Wagenborg unitNews // September 26, 2013
Barge Master has received a letter of award (LOA) from Niestern Sander in The Netherlands for employment of the Barge Master motion compensated crane on a new 'walk-to-work' vessel to be built for Wagenborg.
The vessel including the Barge Master system will be ready in the first quarter of 2015. The motion-compensated crane will be used to service and maintain gas production platforms in the North Sea.
Apart from using the Barge Master, the new vessel will accommodate 20 crew members and 40 service technicians. Chemicals can be stored onboard and transferred safely, and thanks to the T40 Barge Master system materials can be transferred with wave heights of up to 3 meters.
The Barge Master T40 is capable of compensating an offshore knuckle boom/telescopic boom crane with a capacity of 15 tonnes. The T40 was developed by Barge Master and Bosch Rexroth.
