Harvey Gulf Marine International to acquire Abdon CallaisCompany News // September 13, 2013
Reports from the US suggest that Harvey Gulf International Marine is to acquire Abdon Callais Offshore in a deal which includes the acquisition of 48 offshore supply vessels, of which four are currently under construction.
Abdon Callais has one of the youngest and largest fleets operating in the Gulf of Mexico. Of ACO's 48 vessel fleet, 92 per cent has dynamic positioning (to DP1 or DP2 standard) and 58 per cent of the vessels have a length of more than 205ft.
Marine Log, which reported the story, said the acquisition "expands Harvey Gulf's vessel classes and allows Harvey Gulf to broaden its service offering to customers in the Gulf of Mexico."
The transaction is expected to close in fourth quarter 2013.
