Nor-Ocean Offshore reports that a DOF Subsea and Technip joint venture (JV) has been awarded 4 x 8+8Y PLSV newbuild contracts with Petrobras with day rates around US$295k on average.
Two of the PLSVs will be built at Vard Promar in Brazil and are set for delivey in the fourth quarter of 2016 and second quarter of 2017.
Both of the locally-built vessels will be of VARD 316 design and equipped with a 300 tonne tension capacity.
The other two vessels will be equipped with a 650 tonne tension system and are of VARD 305 design. These vessels will be built at VARD Sřviknes and will be delivered in the second quarter of 2016 and third quarter of 2016.
Topside equipment for all four ships will be delivered by Huisman.
DOF and Technip have also been awarded a two-year extension for Skandi Vitória with Petrobras.
Skandi Vitória is equipped with vertical and horizontal pipe-lay systems, a 250 tonne crane and two ROVs.
