Marin Teknikk to design dive/construction vessel for KreuzVessel & ROV News // June 12, 2013
Marin Teknikk in Norway has entered into a contract with China Merchants Heavy Industry (Shenzhen) Co Ltd, for the design and engineering of a large diving and construction vessel for Kreuz Subsea Marine Pte Ltd in Singapore.
The vessel will be of the MT6024 DSCV design with an 18-man double diving bell saturation system for operations down to 300m.
The vessel will have a length of 120m and a breadth of 25m, accommodation for 130 persons, a 140 tonne offshore crane, in addition to two ROVs for operations down to 3,000m.
The design emphasizes reduced fuel consumption together with latest environmentally diesel-electric technology with reduced exhaust emissions and large cargo capacity on deck (1,300m2) and below deck.
The vessel will be built according to DNV class and the new SPS code, plus COMF-V(3) and Clean class notation.
The contract includes an option for one vessel of the same type. The vessel is to be built by China Merchants Heavy Industry (Shenzhen) Co Ltd and will be ready for delivery in the second quarter of 2015.
