Harvey Gulf International Marine of New Orleans has confirmed that it plans to spend US$540 million to build three new vessels and acquire 11 more vessels from a competitor.
The company has placed contracts for two construction vessels and a supply boat powered by liquefied natural gas.
Eastern Shipbuilding Group of Panama City, Florida will build the construction vessels and TY Offshore of Gulfport, Miss will construct the supply boat.
Harvey Gulf said it will also acquire vessels from Gulf Offshore Logistics.
