    News // July 18, 2003
The Directors of CH Offshore Ltd (CHO) in Singapore have announced that the company has ordered two new AHTS vessels.

The two AHTS vessels are expected to be delivered in the second half of 2004. Together with two recently delivered vessels and two other vessels currently under construction in China (and also due to be delivered in the second half of 2004), the additionof the latest two AHTS vessels will bring the total of the CHO Group's fleet of vessels to 25.

The contract to build the two AHTS vessels was awarded to Keppel Singmarine and each vessel is valued at S$16.5 million, inclusive of CHO supplied deck machinery that will be manufactured by Rolls-Royce Marine AS.

The 60m long vessels will be built to American Bureau of Shipping's classification notation +A1 (E) AH / Offshore Support Vessel, Towing Vessel, Fire Fighting Vessel Class 1, +AMS.

The notation signifies that the vessels will be designed and built with specialized capabilities for towing service; close operations for fire fighting and rescue; and support services to offshore installations including anchor-handling.
