Nigerian owner orders subsea vessel at HavyardYard News // April 5, 2013
Marine Platforms Limited (MPL) has signed a contract with Havyard Group for the delivery of a Havyard 857 subsea/IMR vessel.
The vessel is scheduled for delivery in August 2014. The contract has a value of approximately NKr 600 million.
MPL is a new customer for Havyard and operates in a region where few Havyard vessels have operated until now. MPL is an indigenous Nigerian company offering diverse services to the oil and gas industry in West Africa.
The newbuild is the second Havyard 857 design that will be under construction at Havyard Group’s shipyard in Norway. Last year Forland Shipping also signed a contract for Havyard 857 design.
The Havyard 857 for Forland Shipping, which is scheduled to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2013, has been taken on a five-year charter by EMAS AMS.
