Rory Deans-led Sentinel Marine in the UK has confirmed that it has placed orders with Nam Cheong shipyard in Malaysia to construct four multi-role/field support Emergency Response and Rescue Vessels (ERRVs).
The vessels will have DP, a high level of redundancy on the propulsion and thruster systems, cargo carrying capabilities and advanced rescue and recovery equipment.
Designed to work in the North Sea, particular attention has been placed on seakeeping, crew comfort and fuel efficiency.
The vessels will deliver through the third and fourth quarters of 2014 with a further four option vessels included in the contract.
Sentinel Marine currently has two AHTS and five PSVs on order in addition to the new vessels.
