Innovatum adds capability to its ROV fleetVessel & ROV News // March 7, 2013
UK-based Innovatum has taken delivery of a Saab Seaeye Cougar XTS Compact ROV to be deployed by Innovatum’s survey division, SUBMAGNETIX Survey.
The high power configuration, coupled with compact size, makes the Cougar-XT Compact ideal for operations in areas of high tidal flows and currents.
Innovatum's Cougar is configured with a complete suite of sensors, optimised for high specification cable and pipeline depth of bury survey.
Survey tools fitted include:
• a multi-mode Smartrak 9 cable and pipeline tracker. Alternatively, a Smartrak Plus can be fitted, offering a significantly wider tracking swathe.
• dual head profiler
• hi-resolution imaging sonar
• optional manipulator.
The Cougar will also be offered as an operating platform for Innovatum Smartsearch, the wide-swathe magnetic mapping system which is widely used for pre-lay pipe route survey; munitions search and wreck location.
