Aegir sets course for The Netherlands

    Vessel & ROV News // February 19, 2013

On 16 January, Heerema Marine Contractor’s new deepwater construction vessel Aegir set sail for The Netherlands after almost 19 months of construction at Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) in Okpo, South Korea.

After a short stopover in China, where Aegir will load the first pipe reel using its own 4,000 tonne offshore crane, the vessel will continue her voyage to The Netherlands where the installation of the pipelay equipment will be performed at the Huisman yard in Schiedam.

Aegir is scheduled to start work on its first installation project in the Gulf of Mexico in the fourth quarter of 2013.
