    Solstad Offshore orders construction vessel and signs deal with Reach Subsea

    Solstad Offshore has entered into a new contract with STX OSV for construction of an OSCV 03 construction service vessel (CSV). The contract has a value of around NKr 600 million and the ship will be delivered during the second quarter of 2014.

    Solstad Offshore has also signed a five-year firm charter agreement for the vessel with Reach Subsea, starting from delivery from the shipyard. In addition, the charterer has option to extend the contract with further 3 x 1 years. The value of the firm part of the contract is approximately NOK 650 million.

    The new vessel is 121m long with a beam of 23m and has a working deck of approximately 1,300m2. It will be equipped with a subsea crane with 250 tonne lifting capacity and accommodation for 100 persons.

    The vessel is designed according to the latest environmental standards with focus on low fuel consumption, and precautions in accordance with the DNV’s Clean Design class notation.
