Marin Teknikk makes breakthrough in USVessel & ROV News // November 22, 2012
Norwegian naval architect Marin Teknikk has signed a contract for design and engineering of a subsea support and construction vessel for Otto Candies LLC in the US.
The vessel will be built at the owner's own shipyard, Candies Shipbuilders, and is MT6020 design.
The new vessel will have a length of 102m and breadth of 20.6m and will be equipped with a 150 tonne crane and two ROVs capable of operating down to 3,000m.
The agreement includes an option for another slightly larger vessel, a MT6022 design with a length of 108m, beam of 22m and accommodation for 110 people.
The first vessel will have accommodation for 90 people and is designed according to the latest rules and regulations regarding stability, security, and emissions. It will also comply with the SPS code.
