    Reef Subsea completes Centrica contract

    Projects and Operations // November 22, 2012

Reef Subsea says its subsidiary Reef Subsea Power and Umbilical Ltd has completed a contract with UK energy company Centrica Energy. The contract saw Reef Subsea Power & Umbilical assist with seabed excavation services at the Chiswick platform on the Kew field development.

Reef Subsea Power & Umbilical excavated the seabed at a depth of 40m near the Chiswick platform to allow the accommodation platform, Seafox 7, to be able to place the spud cans safely on the seabed.

The company managed all onshore and offshore engineering, project management and survey services. Reef Subsea Dredging and Excavation (RSD&E), a Reef Subsea company, also provided dredging services throughout the project.

An ROV survey system and T8000 excavation tool provided a single source solution to Centrica Energy's requirement, operated from Reef Subsea’s CSV Polar Prince.

The project was executed in the seven-day timescale in accordance with the client’s requirements.
