Kleven Verft to build a MPSV for Island Offshore

    Vessel & ROV News // September 3, 2004
Kleven Maritime in Norway has signed a contract to build an offshore vessel for Island Offshore.

The ship is to be built at Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik and will be delivered in April 2005.

The ship is a UT 745E MPSV (Multi Purpose Service Vessel) developed by Rolls-Royce Marine, Ship Technology, in close collaboration with the shipowner.

The vessel has large cargo tank capacity and is specially designed to provide supply services to platforms. In addition, the vessel is arranged for underwater operations, stand-by service, oil recovery and firefighting and has extra large accommodation for a total of 50 persons.

Rolls-Royce Marine has optimized the hullform and given the vessel an advanced diesel-electric propulsion system with Rolls-Royce Azipull propulsors to obtain the best possible fuel economy.
