Siem Offshore has signed a contract for another newbuilding.

The Norwegian company has placed an order at Hellesoy shipyard in Norway for a dual fuel PSV, with an option for an additional vessel.

The firm vessel will commence a four year contract, with four one-year options, with Total E&P Norge.

The firm contract commences in the third quarter of 2014.

The vessel will be of VS 4411 DF design with an overall length of 89m and a beam of 19m, with maximum deadweight of 5,500 dwt.

The ship was designed in collaboration with Wärtsilä Ship Design, and will have a dual fuel system for the use of either LNG or Marine Diesel Oil.

"The vessel will be equipped with most modern solutions for firefighting and emergency preparedness," said the owner. "It will have a deck area of approximately 970m2 and under-deck capacities well suited for the intended operations."
