Island Contender delivered

Island Offshore has taken delivery of the UT 776 CDG vessel Island Contender.
Island Contender is a sistership to Island Crusader, which was delivered in May 2012.
"Fuel consumption measurements shows that it was correct to go for this configuration, two larger gas engines which can be used alone or together in all operational situations, and two diesel engines, if more power is required," said Island Offshore.
"With the actual prices on gas and gasoil it is a considerable saving to utilize gas, and from the environmental point of view it is much better."
The vessel has no contract yet so will probably enter the spot market initially.
