    Oceaneering's new ROV replaces U-Loop

    Projects and Operations // September 3, 2004
Oceaneering in the US reports that the 300HP Hydra Maxximum work class ROV system installed on the DP-2 MSV Ocean Intervention has successfully replaced a U-Loop in over 7,000 feet of water for a customer's deepwater development.

During its initial outing, the Hydra Maxximum's specialized traction winch deployed the ROV at 250ft per minute.

The dual manipulator ROV was displayed at OTC 2004 and afterward completed its vessel sea trials in the Gulf of Mexico.

A second Hydra Maxximum ROV, currently in fabrication at Oceaneering's Morgan City ROV manufacturing facility, will be installed aboard the Ocean Intervention II.
