Stril Mariner upgraded for new role as field support vessel

Simon Møkster's Stril Mariner sailed from Simek's Flekkefjord shipyard recently after an upgrade in preparation for a new role as a Field Support Vessel working for BP and Talisman.
The upgrade included increasing the ship's ORO capacity (1,00m3), installing oil detection radar and dispersant equipment. In addition a permanent hangar for oil s and skimmers were installed.
BP and Talisman have also equipped Stril Mariner with a daughter craft. The daughter craft will have sufficient power to tow the oil boom and hold it in position.
Stril Mariner also has a standby certificate and FIFI equipment.
