Gardline Geosciences signs contract with Red7Marine for DP ReelContracts, Tenders and Rates // May 11, 2012
Gardline Geosciences has signed a contract with Red7Marine for a charter on the vessel DP Reel.
Gardline said the addition of DP Reel to its fleet increases itys geotechnical fleet to seven units, of which three are based in European waters. The vessel will undertake borehole, seabed sampling and cone penetrometer testing projects and is available for worldwide deployment.
Following Gardline’s recent completion of a successful shallow geotechnical sampling and CPT campaign in the South Atlantic, DP Reel will now be equipped with a permanently installed drill rig, mounted over the vessel’s moonpool, in advance of the vessel’s next assignment offshore Canada.
DP Reel, which will be available for further assignments from mid-summer onwards, can operate in water depths as shallow as 6.0m LAT in DP mode and can if required, support geotechnical or other operations in near shore locations.
Eric Zon, Managing Director of Gardline Geosciences, said: "Contracting this dynamically positioned vessel from Red7Marine shows the continuing commitment from Gardline to provide a comprehensive range of offshore geotechnical units suitable for worldwide deployment on oil and gas and offshore renewables or other high-profile projects."
