Bumi Armada signs US$65 million charter contract

Malaysia-based international offshore oil field services provider Bumi Armada Berhad has announced that its subsidiary, Bumi Armada Navigation Sdn Bhd, has signed a five-year charter and operations contract with a Mexican company, Tecnologias
Relacionadas con Energia y Servicios Especializados SA de CV (TRESE) for its accommodation workboat Armada Firman 3.
Armada Firman 3 will provide accommodation and offshore services to support oil field activities in the Mexican territorial waters. The 75m long vessel with DP2 capability is classed by ABS to safely accommodate 218 non-industrial personnel as per SOLAS
requirements. It has 600m2 of deck space and a 40 tonne SWL deck crane for maintenance and installation activities.
The five-year contract is estimated to be worth approximately US$65 million and comes with an option for extension of a further five years.
