The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) says it started acquiring seismic data in the southern part of the Barents Sea on 26 April.

“The entire first line of 67km was acquired before midnight. We are very satisfied with this start-up,” said Lars Jensen, the NPD’s project manager for this summer’s seismic acquisition.

The acquisition, which will be carried out by the vessel Artemis Atlantic, will take place over 6-8 weeks. In total, around 6,000km of seismic will be acquired in the area.
