Fairmount Expedition delivers Scarabeo 6 to Rotterdam

Fairmount Marine’s tug Fairmount Expedition has delivered the semi-submersible
drilling rig Scarabeo 6 to Rotterdam, the Netherlands, for a dry-dock period at shipyard Keppel-Verolme.

Scarabo 6, owned by Italian offshore company Saipem, was towed from Abu Qir, Egypt, to Rotterdam over a distance of 3,290 miles.

The tow was executed by Fairmount Expedition together with the tug Normand Neptun at an average speed of 5.7 knots. A bunker stop was made in Algaciras, Spain.

Fairmount Expedition was contracted by EDT Offshore Egypt to undertake the tow.
