Oil & Gas UK announces new, expanded Board

Oil & Gas UK, the representative organisation for the UK offshore oil and gas industry, has announced a number of new appointments within its expanded Board.
Effective from 1 April 2012:
• James Edens, vice president and managing director at CNR International (UK) Ltd, and Gordon Ballard, chairman and country manager of Schlumberger UK Limited, have been appointed the co-chairmen of the organisation, representing, respectively, the operator and contractor communities.
• The new vice co-chairmen are Trevor Garlick, regional president North Sea at BP, and John Pearson, managing director of AMEC Group.
• Robin Davies, vice president – HSEQ & business improvement at Subsea 7, has been appointed honorary treasurer.
All were previously serving on the Board, Mr Davies and Mr Ballard as contractor co-chairman and vice co-chairman respectively, and have already made valuable contributions to its activities.
Malcolm Webb, Oil & Gas UK’s chief executive, said: “Oil & Gas UK is fortunate to be able to rely on individuals of such high calibre to take on these important roles. It is of great benefit to our organisation and the whole industry that senior executives such as these are willing to take on this extra commitment for the sector.”
