    Clarksons and Normarine join forces

    News // September 3, 2004
UK-based shipbroker Clarksons and Normarine Offshore Consultants have reached an agreement to join forces and create Clarkson Normarine Offshore (CNO).

Normarine Offshore Consultants is one of the leading brokers in the offshore industry serving clients worldwide. The company's primary business is acting as a broker in the sale and purchase, order, and charter of mobile offshore drilling units. In addition Normarine has also arranged transactions for other offshore equipment types such as production units, accommodation units, and service vessels.

In combination with Clarksons, CNO will enhance its 'added value' services to CNO clients.

"The integration of Normarine into Clarksons underscores Clarksons continued commitment to growth and investment into the offshore supply and subsea vessel markets," said the company in a statement.

"In addition to broking services, Clarksons, who also publish the 'Offshore Register', will continue to expand the consultancy and research business for the offshore market.

CNO will offer a wide range of worldwide services to owners and end users in the offshore industry.

With many companies today having interests in both the shipping and offshore industries, CNO will increase the scope of services offered to the current clients of both Clarksons and Normarine.

CNO will start operating from the Houston offices of Clarkson Shipping Services USA and the London office of Clarksons.

Steven Lawrence and Kjetil Stangeland from Normarine will join Per Sylvester Jensen and Ken Duell from the Clarksons Houston Team. Piers Middleton will continue to operate from London. Further staff expansion is planned.
