    Gulf Offshore Norge orders Skipsteknisk design

    Gulf Offshore Norge, a subsidiary of Gulfmark Offshore, has ordered a new PSV of Skipsteknisk design, from Simek shipyard in Flekkefjord, Norway.

    The vessel, designated ST-216 Arctic, is based on the successful ST-216L CD design, and will have new modified bow shape and a new improved tank configuration.

    The vessel is designed for harsh environment operations, and will be ice classed and winterized for cold climate conditions. ST-216 Arctic will have a deck area of in excess of 1,000m2 and large cargo carrying capacity.

    In addition, the vessel will have a green profile and fitted for rescue and oil recovery capabilities. Delivery of this vessel is scheduled for the second quarter of 2013.
