FG International Holland repalces flare tips on behalf of Total IndonesiaProjects and Operations // September 21, 2011
FG International Holland, the Dutch special lifting company, recently carried out a flare tip replacement at Total Indonesia.
Both flare tips to be replaced were identical and in close proximity of each other (219m) with the flare stacks standing in a swampy area.
FG accomplished this task working from two shallow draft landing craft on which it fixed its winches.
Due to the tidal range there were limited time slots for part of the work scope.
FG carried out the project with two teams of four technicians. The initial proposed time to carry out the flare tip replacement was five days, but due to the speed, efficiency and technical know how of FG the job was completed in 3.5 days.
