Vessel to FPSO transfer achieved using Offshore Access System

    Projects and Operations // September 2, 2011

In July and August Shell Expro, Offshore Solutions and Seahold Geoships Limited achieved the world’s first vessel to FPSO transfer of personnel.

In its latest report on the market, Seabrokers said that the companies, along with their respective sub-contractors, made 24 connections (294 individual crossings) to the Anasuria FPSO using the Offshore Access System (OAS) mounted on the Seahold chartered ROV support vessel Stril Explorer.

Allan Syme, project manager for the Anasuria Sup-port Vessel project, said: “Offshore Solutions worked with us over a very short timescale to pro-vide a gangway for the first trial of a walk to work solution between a DP vessel and a turret mounted FPSO to support an air diving campaign and shutdown.”
