Mood in North Sea market "upbeat" says brokerNews // July 6, 2011
The North Sea market continues to be "upbeat," says broker Seabrokers, with spot rate levels higher in June than in May, though down on the rate levels at this time last year.
"Enquiry levels have maintained a steady rhythm and with rates pitched moderately neither owners nor charterers should be singing the blues," said the broker in the latest issue of its monthly report Seabreeze.
"The global offshore vessel and rig market must be hitting the right note judging from the chorus of approval from investors who are once again showing their confidence as evidenced by the newbuild score," Seabrokers said.
In Northwest Europe, it said, a string of laid up vessels are leaving their bases and returning to action.
