Swire Pacific Offshore orders four more ships of Havyard design

    Vessel & ROV News // June 22, 2011

The Havyard 844s for Swire are being built at ST Marine in Singapore.

Swire Pacific Offshore has ordered four anchor handlers of Havyard 844 XL design at Singapore Technologies Marine (ST Marine) shipyard in Singapore.

Swire Pacific Offshore will deliver the main equipment as a owner-furbished equpment. The first ship is scheduled for delivery during the first half of 2013 and the last vessel during the first half of 2014.

This is the second series of vessels that Swire Pacific Offshore will build using a Havyard design. The Havyard 844 XL anchor handlers are sisterships of four vessels being constructed at Drydocks World-Singapore. The first vessel of this series will be delivered during the first half of 2012.

The designer said these are the first AHTS that have been designed according to the new SPS 2008 notation, something which gives greater flexibility in terms of having extra crew onboard in order to perform special operations.

With these contracts there are now 28 anchor handlers of Havyard design either delivered or being constructed.
