North Sea market picking up says brokerNews // April 6, 2011
Broker Seabrokers reports that six support vessels remain laid up in the North Sea region, four PSVs and two anchor handlers, although one, Boa Fortune, was reactivated at the end of March ahead of a 30-day pipehaul contract with Allseas in May.
Seabrokers said there has been increased arrival and departure activity, with Brazil again featuring predominantly.
Eight large PSVs have secured summer pipehaul work, bringing some relief to the North Sea spot market while several vessels have had their term charters extended.
Meanwhile drilling activity is picking up resulting in several rigs leaving lay-up and the issue of several new tenders for support vessels.
