Nord Viking deliveredVessel & ROV News // March 17, 2011
February saw Astilleros Zamakona shipyard in Spain deliver the second in a series of four large ice-strengthened AHTS for Swedish owner Rederi AB Transatlantic.
The 4,500 dwt, 85m long Njord Viking has a bollard pull of 230 tonnes, and a deck area of 740m2. Notations/design featurs include Ice Class 1A, de-icing, standby vessel, oilrec and clean design.
Seabrokers reports that the vessel is forward fixed to ENI to support the new-build semi Scarabeo 8 on a drilling campaign in the Barents Sea.
The rig however has been extensively delayed and latest reports indicate that instead of being ready by the summer may not be ready until the fourth quarter.
