Fitzgerald honoured at Subsea Business AwardsCompany News // February 11, 2011
Mel Fitzgerald, Director of Subsea 7 SA and former Chief Executive Officer of Subsea 7, was recognised for his significant impact in the subsea sector when he received the Outstanding Achievement award made by Subsea UK at its annual Subsea Business Awards in Aberdeen, UK.
Bill Edgar, Subsea UK’s Chairman, said: "Mel has been involved in the industry for over a quarter of a century in various positions ranging from Project Engineer to CEO of a leading global subsea company, Subsea 7."
"He is credited with the globalisation of Subsea 7 in his six years as CEO and is a most worthy recipient of this year's award.”
Mr Fitzgerald commented: "These awards recognise the efforts of many people from across the industry and it’s a great privilege to be honoured amongst them."
"I am collecting this award not just for myself but for all those people that I have worked with over the last 30 years and in particular all those at Subsea 7."
