Remontowa shipyard in poland has entered into a contract with Lewek Shipping Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Ezra Holdings of Singapore, for the construction of two multipurpose MMC 887 CP offshore vessels.

The vessels will be entirely constructed at Remontowa's Northern Shipyard facility in Gdansk with delivery dates set for first quarter and second quarter 2012.

Construction started in September 2010 and the keel-laying of both vessels has been completed.

With a length of 87.90m and beam of 18.80m the vessels will have a deadweight of 5,200 tonnes and deck area of in excess of 900m2. They will have accommodation for 60 and will have Fi-Fi 1 and will be equipped for oil recovery and safety standby assignments.

In a statement, Remontowa said the vessels are designed so that they can fitted with equipment to enable them to carry out towage and anchor handling duties, and will have hybrid propulsion.
