Primo supports client with cable protection systemCompany News // December 16, 2010
Primo Marine says it is assisting a major, as yet un-named client with the implementation of a cable protection system.
AssetMonitor, supplied by InfoTerra UK, works by keeping track of the location and activity of vessels. It alerts the client when one of these vessels breaches a rule that has been set up in a virtual protection zone around a submarine asset.
A protection zone is an area that is marked out around a submarine asset, within which client's want to know of any vessel behaviour that might pose a threat to the integrity of that asset.
AssetMonitor also provides vessel density data that can be used for risk management purposes.
