Beaucephalus can be fitted with a crane, ROVs and moonpool.
On 1 December 2011 Beaucephalus, a Havyard 832 L SE platform supply vessel was delivered to Global Offshore Services BV, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Garware Offshore Services Ltd, by Havyard Leirvik shipyard in Norway.
The vessel is the eighth Havyard 832 design to have been delivered, with a further three ships under construction. "All of Havyard 832s that have been delivered are on long term contracts and the second hand value has proved to be very good," said the shipyard.
Beaucephalus was designed by Havyard Design AS in Fosnavåg, Norway and is a large medium sized PSV meeting future market demands.
The Havyard 832 L SE is based on the Havyard 832 CD design and has been further developed in accordance with customer demands and market demands. Compared to a standard Havyard 832 CD the new design has been extended and has a larger deadweight, accommodation for more people and is far more flexible in regards to the types of jobs the ship can do.
In addition to usual platform supply jobs the vessel is also designed to perform light construction work and general maintenance and repair on subsea installations.
The ship is prepared for installation of offshore cranes and ROVs and is also prepared for a moonpool.
